Srinagar, Oct 19: Two persons sustained burn injuries following a gas lighter explosion inside a shop at Qamarwari near Bilal Masjid in Srinagar city on Sunday, officials said.

According to officials, the incident occurred when a gas lighter box reportedly exploded inside the shop, leaving two shopkeepers injured. Both victims were immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for medical treatment.

The injured have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khanday, son of Abdul Ahad Khanday (45), and Parvaiz Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Khanday (25), both residents of Qamarwari, Srinagar.

Hospital authorities confirmed that the condition of both injured persons is stable. Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
