Detroit — What looked like an imposing stretch of hockey to begin the season for the Red Wings turned out better than most could have expected.

Dylan Larkin and Emmitt Finnie each had two goals — the first two of Finnie's career — and goaltender John Gibson made 16 saves (and was credited with an assist, for good measure) as the Wings skated to their fifth consecutive victory Sunday, 4-2 over Edmonton.
