VENICE, Fla. ( WWSB ) - The Sun Fiesta, one of the Suncoast’s most beloved and vibrant festivals, unites the community each year with a lively mix of events, entertainment, and local flair.

The festival featured parades, ceremonies, live music, raffles and various vendors with a variety of food and drinks.

The Sun Fiesta also hosted the Annual Funny Bed Races with a number of teams competing for the Bed Races championship.

Firehouse Chili Cook-Off heats up Sarasota

A beauty pageant was also featured to select a Miss Sun Fiesta from local young women competing for the annual title and scholarship money.

The final afternoon of the event also held the Sun Fiesta Idol Contest — showing off local talent for a scholarship prize.
