NEW YORK (PIX11) — A New York-based nut company is recalling 600 bags of one of its products sold in the tri-state area over recent weeks.
Nat's Nuts, of Rochester, issued the recall for its Cinnamon Whiskey Pecans, sold in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and several other states, according to the Federal Food and Drug Administration.
The nuts were sold in stores from Oct. 8 through Oct. 16 and sold on Amazon and the Nat's Nuts website from Oct. 9 through Oct. 16.
The recall was issued due to undeclared cashews being mixed in with the pecans. According to the FDA, the mix-up came from a "temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes."
Consumers who purchased the nuts are encouraged to return the package to the original place of purchase for a f
