Pollution has increased in Delhi and surrounding areas before Diwali. Air quality has deteriorated. People may find it difficult to breathe. Due to this, anti-pollution restrictions have been implemented under GRAP-2. Restrictions under GRAP-1 were first implemented this season on October 14.

CAQM stated, “Delhi's AQI showed an increase since Sunday morning. It was recorded at 296 at 4 PM and 302 at 7 PM. According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), the AQI will further deteriorate in the coming days.”

Under GRAP-2, the use of coal and wood will be banned in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), and the use of diesel generator sets will also be restricted.
