CEDAR KEY, Fla. (WCJB) - North Central Florida residents came together in Cedar Key this weekend to celebrate seafood and community.

The 54th Cedar Key Seafood Festival kicked off on Saturday as dozens set up shop, selling paintings, knick-knacks, and of course, seafood.

This weekend marked a big return for the festival after a one-year hiatus, after last year’s festival was canceled following a devastating hurricane season.

“Last year was really emotionally trying, to see the devastation not just me and the coffee shop, you know, you wanna feel sorry for yourself a little bit, but you see people who’ve lost their homes, their lives, their everything. It tests you emotionally,” said Benjamin Iversen, Owner of the Cedar Key
