SCRANTON, Pa. — A fundraiser took place on Sunday in Lackawanna County , looking to improve Scranton Park.

Friends of Nay Aug Park is hosting a community event to support the park.

Organizers say money raised from the event will benefit ongoing efforts to maintain and improve Nay Aug Park for future generations.

Russell Preno, from the Friends of Nay Aug Park, said, "It's for generations to come. There are generations here, Sam, my aunt Mary Jo, to me, to our future generations, and that's why we're doing it is for the future of Nay Aug Park."

There were painting events for kids, food trucks, and vendors, all sponsored by local businesses and patrons.
