Roy Municipal Schools senior Ayden J. Clavel has been named a 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program finalist, one of the nation’s highest academic honors for high school students.
Clavel attended Roy schools from preschool and earned a place on the "A" Honor Roll every year. He participated in National Honor Society, FFA, Student Council and 4-H and graduated as valedictorian of the class of 2025.
A standout athlete, Clavel was an All-District football and basketball player, First-Team All-State quarterback and linebacker, member of Roy’s Six-Man State Championship Football Team and a state-champion javelin thrower.
He is now enrolled at West Texas A&M University, where he plans to major in animal science with a minor in agricultural business and economics.
