Affiliate player Marek Pladzyk scored two goals — including the game-winner — to help lead the Timmins Majors to a 5-3 win over the Kapuskasing Flyers at the McIntyre Arena, Sunday afternoon.

It was the conclusion of a busy Great North U18 League weekend for the Majors who defeated the Flyers by the same 5-3 score in Kapuskasing, Saturday night, after dropping an 8-4 decision to the Cubs in New Liskeard Friday night.

The Majors got on the scoreboard first Sunday afternoon, as blue-liner Gerald Southwind scored his second goal of the season six minutes into the contest.

But the Flyers tied things up on Paul Harris’ third goal of the campaign and then took a 2-1 lead on Victor Gauthier’s second goal of the season.
