BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo fire crews responded to a house fire on Buffalo's West side.

Buffalo firefighters responded to reports of a house fire at 19 Arkansas Street around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday night.

According to city officials, the fire was contained to the attic and second floor of the 2 and a half story building. All residents of the building were out of the house before firefighters arrived, however the Red Cross is assisting two adults and three children who have been displaced.

The damages to the structure are estimated to be $250,000 with an additional $100,000 of estimated damages for the contents of the home.

The original cause of the fire is under investigation.
