OWENSBORO, KY. (WFIE) - We have a handful of Tri-State high school soccer teams who are still alive and kicking, in the postseason.
We have two teams in Kentucky, who made it to the KHSAA State Sweet 16. The Daviess County girls and the Owensboro boys squads, both advanced.
The Red Devil men got there, by beating Daviess County, 4-1, in the 3rd region championship, last Wednesday.
That was the fourth time, that OHS beat Daviess County this season, and it was extra special, as it gave the Devils their first region crown, since 2012!
So now, Owensboro HS moves on, to its state sweet 16 matchup, where they will host 2nd region champion, University Heights, on Monday night, at 7 p.m., at Owensboro’s Shifley Park.
