22-year-old all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made his ODI debut for Team India on Sunday (October 19) in Perth. In the rain-hit contest that India lost by 7 wickets on Shubman Gill’s ODI captaincy debut, Reddy remained unbeaten on 19 runs from 11 balls. His knock included two sixes in the first over of India’s innings bowled by Matthew Kuhnemann (4-0-26-2). The youngster from Andhra Pradesh, who made his Test debut as well in Perth last year on November 22 against Australia, also bowled 2.1 overs and conceded 16 runs but failed to take any wickets.

Before getting a chance to showcase his skill on the field, Reddy received his maiden ODI cap from former India all-format captain Rohit Sharma.
