Albion Rovers boss Sandy Clark admits ending their five-game losing streak with a thumping win over Berwick Rangers has given everyone a huge lift.
The Coatbridge club hadn’t tasted victory since a 1-0 victory over Cowdenbeath on September 6, but they didn’t mess about at Cliftonhill on Saturday in a 4-1 win which was sparked by Sonny Aluko’s opener within 21 seconds.
Rovers got off to a dream start as Aluko fired them into a quick lead and, before they knew it, a screamer from Grant Marchant and a cool finish from Alfie Lumsden had they 3-0 to the good after just 20 minutes.
Berwick pulled one back before the break, but six minutes from time Tony Garth sealed the points, firing home from the right-hand side of the box.
