Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday while addressing Navy personnel on INS Vikrant, highlighted India’s growing defence capabilities and emphasised the country’s progress in defence manufacturing, noting that an average of 40 new warships or submarines have been inducted into the Navy annually since 2014.
“On average, 40 new warships or submarines have been inducted into the Indian Navy since 2014. BrahMos and Akash missiles proved their capabilities in Operation Sindoor. The name BrahMos alone makes people shiver. Many countries are interested in BrahMos. India is building the capability to export equipment for all three services. We aspire to become a top defence exporter in the world, which has increased 30 times in the last 11 years,” PM Modi said.
