New Boston Huron’s girls soccer team made history last spring, becoming the first Monroe County Region team to play in a state championship game.
Many of the players on Huron’s boys teams were along for that ride.
Now they want one of their own.
The Chiefs, 18-1-2 and ranked No. 2 in Division 2, continue their state-tournament run on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the regional semifinals.
“All my girls and guys are really close,” said Matt Lividini, who coaches both teams at Huron. “My girls come and sit on the boys bench, just like the boys did for the girls.
“The boys relate to a lot of the things the girls did. The style is the same for both games. The boys play at the same aggressive, fast pace. We like to press the ball and take away options for both the boys and the girls.”
