They came in cars, on bikes, on foot and in wheelchairs by the thousands to First Ward Park on Saturday to participate in the No Kings Day march and rally, to protest the policies of President Donald Trump and his administration. Some of the diverse group of demonstrators were dressed in anti-Trump costumes, and most carried signs with the dominant message that the president and Republican lawmakers are putting democracy at risk.

Sitting on one of the low-rise walls surrounding the park and holding a sign that read ‘No Troops in Our Streets,’ a reference to Trump sending National Guard troops to some cities, Ken Hunter, said he’s concerned that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
