The fifth annual Academy Museum Gala unfolded on Saturday at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, drawing some of Hollywood’s brightest stars. This year’s co-chairs included Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, Common, Jennifer Hudson , and Academy trustee Alejandro Ramírez Magaña. The gala paid tribute to a slate of honorees whose creative achievements have shaped contemporary storytelling: Penélope Cruz received the Icon Award, Walter Salles was honored with the Luminary Award, comedian and actor Bowen Yang earned the Vantage Award, and Bruce Springsteen accepted the inaugural Legacy Award following a live performance presented by Martin Scorsese.
