The Rashtriya Janata Dal on Monday (October 20) named candidates for 143 seats for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will contest from the Raghopur assembly seat in Vaishali district.
The "MY" (Muslim-Yadav) support base of the party appears to have been kept in mind in the selection of candidates, though other backward castes and upper castes have also been given tickets.
The RJD has fielded 21 women, far more than its main rivals, the JD(U) and the BJP.
Tejashwi filed his nomination papers for the assembly elections on October 15. He owns movable and immovable assets worth around ₹8.1 crore, according to the affidavit filed by him.
Raghopur will go for polls in the first of the two phases of election on November 6.
