Day of the Jackal: USA's Spellman lifts CDC Continental Cup

North America's newly crowned Continental Cup Champion Alex Spellman running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and dancing around the famous Rocky statue with the trophy aloft is an image I hope everyone is now amusingly picturing.

It may not have been quite how The Jackal celebrated – in fact, I’m certain it wasn’t. But he did indeed claim the Championship Darts Circuit honours, defeating David Cameron 8-5 in the final. For the second time in his impressive tungsten career, 36-year-old Spellman lifted the prestigious title, three years after his initial success in New York.
