Scots were battered with rain over the weekend, and the wintery weather is only going to worsen as we advance deeper into October. In fact, weather maps are even showing snow for a large chunk of Scotland next week.
The latest data from WX Charts shows flurries of snow in central areas of the Highlands from next Thursday, October 30. Up to two centimetres of snow per hour is expected in the worst-hit areas, including just south of Inverness and north-east of Fort William.
While the snow covers a wide area of the Highlands, stretching from south of Fort William to far north of Portree and Inverness, the coming spell of white stuff is to be short lived. The heaviest snow is to fall in the early hours of next Thursday morning, with maps for 6am showing
