Jamie Laing regrets speaking "badly" about his dad in a newspaper interview. The former Made in Chelsea star has admitted that he and his father Nicholas "didn't talk for ages" after he "really hurt" him by blaming him for his parents' divorce in an interview. Jamie admitted to Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast that he felt "huge guilt" over his comments, especially after Nicholas sent him the article along with a note. "My dad, he sent me an article, it was the article I had done and he had just written on the article, said, 'I'm so sorry I'm such a disappointment,'" the 36-year-old recalled. "Yeah, I've actually never told anyone that, I don't think. He wrote that on it and it was just on the thing. I just thought, 'Man, that's my dad.'" When host Fearne asked what Nicholas meant by his message, Jamie explained that he was "really hurt" and was trying to say he didn't know "both sides" of the story. "I think he wanted to say that he was sorry. My Dad finds it hard to be emotional," he shared. "But it was him basically, probably to say, I'm sorry, but also to say, I think he was hurt. So I think it was him saying, 'You don't know both sides. You don't know the true story so if you just say things, it's really hurtful. I'm sorry that you have that. I represent all these things that you said.'" Although they didn't speak "for ages" over the article, Jamie and his dad have become "really close" in recent years, and they had "a big conversation" which helped convince the TV personality that he wanted to be a father himself. Jamie and his wife Sophie Habboo are currently expecting their first child.
