Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels sustained a right hamstring injury early in the third quarter and was ruled out early in the fourth quarter Sunday against the host Dallas Cowboys.

On first-and-10 at the Dallas 39, Daniels dropped back and was sacked by Shemar James, fumbling the ball while being pulled down with Dallas recovering. Daniels was slow to get up and limping as he left the field and went to the medical tent with 11:47 remaining in the third quarter.

Daniels then went back into the locker room for further evaluation. He missed two games this season after sustaining a knee sprain during the Commanders' Week 2 loss at Green Bay.

The Commanders were trailing 27-15 when Daniels left the game. Dallas scored off his fumble and then returned a Marcus Mariota intercep
