PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The US Secret Service found a "suspicious" hunting stand within sight of the Air Force One landing zone ahead of the president's arrival in Florida over the weekend, FBI Director Kash Patel said, adding no one was at the stand.

"Prior to the President's return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone," the FBI director said to a news outlet, later confirming on social media that "the FBI is investigating" what Patel called a "suspicious stand" near the zone.

One senior law enforcement official told CNN the hunting stand was found across from the airport. Based on the condition of the stand, the source said, it had been there for some time.
