The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating a fatal shooting involving the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office that occurred in the Nesbit area on Oct. 19.

According to a statement from DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle, deputies responded to a noise complaint at a residence on Bankston Road. When deputies arrived, a group of people told them that a person had been discharging a weapon, Tuggle said. According to MBI, the individual had fled into a nearby wooded area, but later returned.
