An Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage has hit major platforms worldwide including Snapchat, Perplexity AI, Canva, Reddit, Roblox, and Fortnight, among others on Monday, October 20.

Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI, confirmed on social media platform X that its services were down due to AWS.

According to a Reuters report, AWS acknowledged that it was seeing increased "error rates and latencies".

"We are working on multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery," Reuters quoted AWS as saying in an update.

AWS is a leading cloud services major that provides on-demand computing power, data storage and other digital services to companies, governments and individuals.

The outage has also impacted Amazon's own platforms including the flagship ecommerce site, Prime Video, and Alexa
