Halloween is now the second most popular family event after Christmas , research claims. Parents quizzed said the spook fest was more enjoyable for them than Easter, New Year’s Eve and Bonfire Night. ‌

The study of mums and dads of kids aged three to 13 found they will splurge an average of £285 on h orror-themed gear and spend almost 23 hours preparing for the day. And 72% admitted they will go “all out” on October 31, dressing up, trick or treating and hosting parties. ‌
