Two people were killed in a Lincoln County car crash in the early morning of Oct. 19, according to a release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

The release said a 1992 Ford Ranger driven by a 52-year-old man was headed north on SD Highway 11, 8 miles south of Canton, when a southbound 2002 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 49-year-old man drifted into its lane, hitting the car head-on.

Both men sustained fatal injuries in the crash, the release said, and their names have yet to be released pending the notification of family members.
