ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A lawsuit has been filed against the Rochester City School District in connection to recent payroll issues.
New York State United Teachers announced earlier this month they were in the process of finalizing the lawsuit on behalf of the Rochester Teachers Association. This follows months of payment issues within the district.
The lawsuit accuses the district of failing to issue paychecks to employees since July, delaying the issuance of paychecks, making wrong deductions, and innacurately calculating leave balances and seniority dates, among other allegations.
RTA told News 8 the problems originated after RCSD switched their payroll platforms from PeopleSoft to Oracle. At the time, RCSD said they were correcting issues on a case-by-case basis.
