The Trenton Golden Hawks erupted for six unanswered second period goals in a 7-2 rout of the Mississuaga Chargers, Friday in Ontario Junior Hockey League action at the Community Gardens.
With the win, the defending OJHL champion Golden Hawks improved their first place overall recored to 12-2-0-1 and jumped from 13th to 6th in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s weekly Top 20 rankings. Collège Français de Longueuil of the Quebec League stand first among the CJHL’s 116 teams.
After a scoreless first period on Friday, the Golden Hawks took total control of the contest by scoring six second period tallies, including three on the power play and two while shorthanded.
