Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo admitted it was nice to quieten the Liverpool fans at Anfield after the visitors were jeered during the pre-match warm-up.
United got off to the best possible start on Merseyside as Mbeumo latched onto an Amad through ball to open the scoring. Liverpool had chances of their own and bagged an equaliser with 12 minutes remaining as Cody Gakpo tapped in from close range.
However, it was the Reds who had the last laugh as Harry Maguire headed home at the back post with time running out to seal the 2-1 victory. After the match, Mbeumo was asked about how special it was scoring for United at Liverpool for the first time.
