Temples and houses were brightly illuminated on the occasion and devotees offered sweets to the goddess.

Devotees in northeast India Tripura state celebrated “Kali Puja” by offering prayers to Goddess Kali on Monday.

Faithful devotees thronged the Umamaheshwari temples and Ananaomoie Maa Ashram premises dedicated to Kali, the Goddess of destruction.

Here at this temple the puja started from the time of the Maharajas and is still celebrated in the traditional manner.

Several Kali Puja were also organised by the clubs in Agartala and one of the main attraction is the Kali Puja and Diwali Festival at Mata Tripurasundari temple at Udaipur in Gomati district where Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and several other dignitaries also participated.
