The Kangpokpi Town Committee (KTC) has imposed a complete ban on the sale, possession, and use of firecrackers within Kangpokpi town, citing serious health and environmental concerns as well as the prevailing situation in the state.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, KTC Information and Publicity Secretary Ngulneithang Khongsai stated that the Committee acknowledges the cultural importance of Diwali and the traditional use of firecrackers, but the well-being and safety of citizens must remain the top priority.
