You'll get a chance to see this year's closest supermoon to Earth illuminate Michigan skies soon.

The beaver moon will peak the morning of Nov. 5, the second of three consecutive full supermoons in 2025, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. As a supermoon, the full moon will appear slightly larger and brighter in the night sky than it would otherwise.

The beaver moon will be just 221,817 miles from Earth, the closest full moon of the year. The average distance between the Earth and the moon is about 238,000 miles.

Clear skies permitting, take a look up the evening of Nov. 4, when the moon appears full, and the evening of Nov. 5 to enjoy the moon illusion , glimpsing the beaver moon appearing big and bright in the sky.
