Human remains discovered on Saturday have been identified as 23-year-old Kada Scott, who had been missing since October 4. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office confirmed the identification during a press conference on Monday.

Keon King, 21, the primary suspect in Scott's disappearance, now faces additional charges. Initially charged with kidnapping, King is now also charged with arson causing catastrophe, conspiracy, unauthorized use of an automobile, tampering with evidence, recklessly endangering another person, and receipt of stolen property. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced these new charges on Monday.

Scott's remains were found in a shallow grave behind the abandoned Ada H. Lewis Middle School in Germantown. The discovery occurred around 10 a.m. after police received a specific anonymous tip. First Deputy Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, John Stanford, stated that police have been in contact with Scott's family since the remains were found.

Scott was last seen by her mother on October 4, as she was leaving for her job at a nearby nursing home. According to police, she arrived at work but left before her shift ended. The typical shift for Scott was from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

In the days leading up to her disappearance, Scott had informed family and friends that she was being harassed by an unknown individual via phone. Evidence suggests that Scott was in communication with King and may have met with him shortly after leaving work on the night of her disappearance. King remains in custody as the investigation continues.
