The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced the 2026 semifinalists and Peoria Unified has three:

• Theo Benavidez, Ironwood High School, Class of 2026;

• Kylie McEwen, Liberty High School, Class of 2026;

• Jacob Sajan, Centennial High School, Class of 2025.

“This prestigious recognition of each of these students is a testament to the exceptional learning and teaching that students throughout the Peoria Unified School District are provided which prepares them for a successful future,” said KC Somers, Peoria Unified Superintendent. “I am extremely proud of these students and look forward to their success in college, career and beyond.”
