The mother of a 11-year-old girl whose body was found in a storage bin outside an abandoned house in New Britain earlier this month told police that she and her boyfriend withheld food from the child for two weeks before her death and restrained her in zip ties as punishment, according to a newly released warrant, and told police that she was about to go on a podcast to share the story of what happened to her daughter.

Karla Garcia and her boyfriend, Jonatan Nanita, with whom she shares three other children, have been charged with the murder of Garcia’s 11-year-old daughter, Jacqueline "Mimi" Torres-Garcia.
