An Eastpointe man accused in a fatal stabbing that stemmed from a love triangle has been ordered to stand trial on the charges, prosecutors said Monday.

Nico Trevon Nettles, 27, was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court following a preliminary exam before 38th District Court Judge Kathleen G. Galen. The judge ruled Friday that police and prosecutors had presented enough evidence to move forward with a trial of second-degree murder.

“No disagreement — no matter how personal or intense — should ever end in violence,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a news release. “Disagreements can and should be settled with words, through dialogue or lawful channels. A man is dead and nothing can change that.”
