PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Prosecutors are asking for the murder trial of Amber Spradlin to be delayed.

Right now, the three people charged in the case are set to go on trial December 1.

Spradlin was found dead in June, 2024.

M.K. McKinney, Dr. Michael McKinney, and Josh Mullins are all charged with eight counts of tampering with physical evidence in the murder of Spradlin. Along with those charges, M.K. is charged with her murder.

In a motion filed Monday to continue the case, Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner says the last submission of evidence, which includes at least 33 items to be analyzed for DNA, will not be completed prior to December 1.

The motion says the victim’s family agrees with the request to continue the trial.
