BYU’s rivalry win over Utah just became even more memorable for a pair of Cougars.
BYU safety Tanner Wall was named the Big 12’s Defensive Player of the Week, while quarterback Bear Bachmeier earned Freshman of the Week honors for the fifth time.
Wall recorded 10 tackles — seven solo — against the Utes, also intercepting Devon Dampier in the fourth quarter for the defensive play of the game.

The senior walk-on turned team captain ranks fifth at BYU with 29 total tackles this year and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions. View Comments
In his first taste of rivalry action, Bachmeier threw for 166 yards and a touch
