MACON, Ga. — Prosecutors dropped the murder case against a Macon man accused of killing a 28-year-old in 2021 after evidence went missing and witnesses could not tie the suspect to the shooting, according to court records filed Friday.
Jasirian Thomas was charged in Ledarius Clark's killing in the 100-block of Pansy Avenue, which is off Mercer University Drive.
But as the case was heading to trial, prosecutors determined that they didn't have enough evidence to move ahead on the case.
"The District Attorney’s Office has an obligation to protect the rights and liberties of every individual, and that includes strict checks and balances to ensure that all material evidence is accounted for and properly maintained before proceeding to trial," according to a statement from the Macon Jud
