The Olathe, Kansas, Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday night.

Police responded to the area of Old 56 Highway and Chestnut Street around 8:30 p.m. on reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. Advertisement

Officers found a man suffering from critical injuries.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Olathe police identified him Monday as Aureliano Gonzalez-Sanchez, 36.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
