COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - SafeHouse Ministries held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new childcare and early learning center.

It’s named ‘Bright Futures of Columbus,’ and will be for ages 0 months until 12 years old. It will be open from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. and after school care will be available.

Also, officials say parents will have the opportunity to send their kids if they are too sick to go to school but not sick enough to have the parent miss work.

According to SafeHouse, there are 14400 children under 4 in Columbus and less than 8000 childcare slots available making this an urgent need.
