SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A drug smuggling investigation that began in Santa Rosa County has led to the arrest of a man from Miami, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement news release.

According to the release, 52-year-old Dimy Paraison has been arrested and charged in connection with a scheme to smuggle drugs into Florida State prisons.

The investigation began more than a year ago, in June 2024, when the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office asked for the FDLE's assistance with a drug smuggling investigation.

Several arrests made in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties led to the discovery of an operation to introduce contraband to prisons through inmate visits, according to the release.
