Attorney General Kris Mayes has asked Arizona's top court to give her more time to decide how to proceed with her criminal case alleging Trump electors and aides interfered in the 2020 presidential election.

The case has been stalled for months after a Maricopa County Superior Court judge in May ruled Mayes had to go back to a grand jury and present the evidence again. An Arizona Court of Appeals panel said it would not take up Mayes' appeal of that ruling, and she faces an Oct. 22 deadline to challenge that decision before the Arizona Supreme Court.
