TOWN OF MILTON, Wis. (WKOW) -- A fire in a garage attached to a two-story home in the Town of Milton caused major damage to the garage.

Lakeside Fire crews, along with crews from Janesville, Fort Atkinson and Whitewater responded to the fire on Ladue Drive around 11 a.m. Sunday. The Lake Mills Fire Department was also requested to provide an engine to stand by in case of another incident in the Lakeside region.

Lakeside Fire investigators confirmed the fire started in a vehicle parked in the garage when a resident attempted to start the vehicle to leave for work. The resident was able to get out of the garage safely. Fire from the vehicle quickly grew and extended to the garage contents and structure.
