MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police responded to Festival Foods on E Washington Avenue on Sunday evening for a report of someone making threats and claiming to be armed with a gun.
Staff at the store called 911 when the man became "agitated" and started throwing frozen pizzas, according to a news release.
Police found the man whom the workers described in the parking garage. When they went up to him, they said he did not comply with their demands. They used less lethal ammo against him and arrested him.
The man was taken to the hospital for medical clearance, and police plan to refer charges of disorderly conduct, failing to comply with an officer's attempt to take a person into custody and carrying a concealed knife.
