HOUMA, La. —
Two people were rescued from a structure fire in Houma on Sunday night.
According to the Houma Fire Department, around 11:33 p.m., they were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Grinage Street near downtown Houma. Advertisement
When they arrived, they encountered a structure with visible flames and multiple nearby buildings showing signs of heat damage.
One victim was located inside the structure and rescued by crews, and they were transported to a nearby hospital.
The second victim was also transported to a nearby hospital.
The status of the occupants is unknown at this time.
Houma Fire Department said more than 10 dogs were reported to have escaped the residence and were seen in the area surrounding the fire scene.
