A double lung transplant recipient spent an emotional day at the Office of Motor Vehicles in Louisiana.

Paul Thibodeaux, expressed his gratitude to the employees who encouraged people to register as organ donors, which he credits for saving his life. Advertisement

"You have to thank people for saving your life, but somebody they loved, they died just before you lived," Thibodeaux said.

Statistics show that one organ donor can save up to eight lives, yet on average, 13 people die each day waiting for an organ.

Thibodeaux's life has dramatically changed since his transplants, allowing him to serve as a corporal for the Terrebonne Parish SWAT operator and raise his children.
