FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Huntington man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal hit-and-run that occurred earlier this month along Interstate 77 in Fayette County.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the West Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched to the 63.5-mile marker of I-77 northbound around 11:51 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased individual with severe injuries lying along the fog line of the right lane. A damaged black SUV was also located at the scene.

Troopers determined that the vehicle responsible for the fatal crash had fled before they arrived.
