Florida Gators athletic director Scott Stricklin said the school intends to honor the full buyout in fired Florida football coach Billy Napier's contract.

Napier is owed in the neighborhood of $20 million for being fired without cause, of which $10 million will be paid out within 30 days of his dismissal. The remaining $10 million will be owed in three yearly installments on July 15, 2026, July 15, 2027 and July 15, 2028.

There is no mitigation on Napier's buyout, meaning if he accepts a job with another school, that salary won't be deducted from the remaining amount he's owed.
